Here is what to expect from a hypnotherapy session.
Your first consultation and treatment can take up to two hours and so you should
allow plenty of time for this. For subsequent appointments, allow an hour and a half
(please note though that this may vary in individual situations).
The therapist will ask for all relevant information regarding your condition and in
turn, will answer any questions you may have regarding hypnotherapy in general and
as it applies to your particular situation. All consultations and subsequent therapy
take place in a comfortable, supportive and relaxed atmosphere and it should be stressed
that all client information is treated with the utmost and complete confidentiality.
The actual hypnotherapy session will commence with the therapist talking you through a very
pleasant guided relaxation, which leaves the whole body and mind in a very restful state.
Following on from this, special techniques are used that help to deepen the relaxation,
release stress, and re-programme the unconscious part of the mind where most of our negative
attitudes and their subsequent physical / emotional states originate from. During the session you
remain fully alert, aware and in control at all times.
At the end of the session, people report feeling calm and relaxed. During the session,
they may have been taught simple but effective self-help techniques, which can be used to combat
stress, ward off migraines / asthma attacks or alleviate pain, to mention but a few.
CD's are also available for use at home to help support what has taken place during the session.
By helping people to take more responsibility for their own health and well-being, hypnotherapy opens up
new and effective ways for a better way of living and being.
